Studied at University of Edinburgh and then in Leiden. Graduated MD King’s College, Aberdeen (1719) Mackenzie set up practice in Worcester and served as the attending physician at Worcester Infirmary between 1745-1751. He retired to Kidderminster. Died at Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire (1761) Best known for 'The History of Health and the Art of Preserving it' (1758)
