Studied at King’s College in Old Aberdeen then travelled around Europe. Reid had returned to Britain by 1609 and practised medicine in the English midlands & Welsh borders. He then settled in Holt (near Chester). Published ‘A Description of the Body of Man' (1616) among other works. Incorporated MA of University of Oxford (1620) and created doctor of medicine. Admitted as a candidate for the College of Physicians (1621). Made a fellow in 1624, and July of same year incorporated at Cambridge University. Reid is buried in London in St Mary Woolnoth parish.
