Adhered to the Pentland rising (1666), and afterwards fled to England. Chaplain to the mayor of Newcastle, and then served presbyterian meeting-houses around Rothbury and Longhorsley, Northumberland. Imprisoned on the Bass Rock (1679), but released (1680) and served as an agent of the Earl of Argyll in Northumberland and Holland. Minister of a meeting-house at Beverley (1685). Minister of Morebattle (1688), Peebles (1690) and St Michaels, Dumfries (1684).
